Free samples from Baen
Baen Books has for the last several years been re-releasing Lee and Miller’s backlist of Liaden Universe® novels, as well as publishing new novels in universe and beyond. All of those novels are available as eBooks in multiple formats, including Mobi/Kindle/Palm, EPUP/Nook/Stanza, Sony LRF, Rocketbook, RTF, and MSReader.
But! Baen doesn’t expect you to leap into an eBook purchase without having had a good, hearty taste of the story being offered up. They typically post from nine to eleven chapter samples of every novel they publish that may be read free of charge.
